Use Somebody by Kings of Leon

I had an interesting morning. I subbed for the middle school band director who does the steel drum band at the high school first then is at the middle school for the rest of the day. My first class combined with the music appreciation class and listened to presentations, and during the class the other band director got a call from one of the middle school directors that the alto sax player from the jazz band had left their music at the high school and needed it because they were performing for the elementary schools today. He found the music and asked if I could take it to one of the elementary schools where they were going to be next. On the way to that elementary school, the middle school band director called and asked if I could go back to the middle school and look for another part, which I did and didn't find music, so then turned back around to the elementary school. Once all of that was taken care of, I was able to go back to the middle school for the rest of the day. I thought I was trying to set a record of how many schools in the county I could go to in one day.

Anyway, I was really excited to wear this new top. Its a tunic, which is something I've never owned before, so I'm trying different ways to wear it. I think this way looks pretty good :)

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day! Today was an awesome day!!! The girls and I headed to the lake early in the morning for some tanning and swimming. When we got there, we were the only ones there and by the time we left around 2, it was pretty packed. Afterwards we went to the store to get everything for the cookout we had. It was the perfect way to spend memorial day.... lake all day and cookout with friends at night. Bring it on summer!

The top I wore for the cookout is one of the new ones I bought yesterday. I also have some guests in my pictures:
Top: TJ Max / Skirt: Hollister / Flip Flops: Old Navy / Necklace: Stella and Dot

meet Kacy and Wendy... two very well dressed friends

I'm wearing a print between two stripes... just noticed that lol

Hope you had a great day! And wanted to give my thanks to the members of the military who have fought for our freedom. God Bless the USA!

Dancing Queen by ABBA

Happy Memorial Day weekend! I love knowing that I have tomorrow off and get to spend the day at the lake with some friends. Today, a group of girls and I went shopping in Beckley, WV. We did about six hours of shopping at JCPenney, American Eagle, Victoria's Secret, TJ Maxx, Rue 21, and Kohl's, which includes our stop for lunch and ice cream. I will be doing cleaning and relaxing this evening, to get ready for people to look at the house tomorrow morning and a BBQ tomorrow night.

Shirt, Jeans, Watch: American Eagle / Shoes: BareTraps / Necklace and earrings: VDazzles from Victoria Ruh's etsy shop

Btw, it was 86 today and will be 92 tomorrow... good thing we can jump in the lake when we get too hot!!! :)

Hallelujah by Michael Henry and Justin Robinett

I subbed elementary music today. I had a very enjoyable day and prepared for a very warm day, however the school's air conditioning was on full blast. Luckily I brought a white zip up hoodie, because I wore it all day. We played games, reviewed musical terms, sang songs, and my last class went outside (the only time I took the hoodie off!). I stopped at the hair dresser to get my bangs trimmed (I love being able to see) and came home. The hubster took a 4 hour practice Boards exam, so I went into the bedroom (so not to disturb him) and fell asleep for about 4 hours. Today was a day that I loved taking a long nap. I have no plans tonight, because we are leaving bright and early to make a day trip to the new apartment and drop off a SUV full of stuff.

Since we're having a moving day, I'm not sure if I'll post my outfit or not. Depends on what I put on in the morning, lol!

Here's today's outfit:
Tank: Old Navy / Pants: Peebles / Flats: Gap / Bracelet: Bahamas

Hoodie: Aerie

When you pack/move, what do you wear? Sweats, jeans and tops, or old clothes?
I know when we actually move I will probably not post much, but since we are meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow, I'd rather look cute than gross.

I Love You This Big by Scotty McCreery

I was getting ready today when my hair straightener started smoking from the on/off switch. I thought it smelled weird and then realized what was happening... so these pictures were taken before I actually straightened/fixed up my hair. I like to curl it under with the straightener, and today its kind of doing its own thing.

Anyway, today was for packing up the car, running errands including returning a keyboard to the the high school, and going out to dinner with a bunch of friends. The first picture is how I wore the outfit to go out with friends, and the rest is what I wore to do errands and go to school since it was a little more modest.
Shirt: Peebles / Skirt: Hollister / Flip Flops: Abercrombie and Fitch / Watch: American Eagle

Jeans: Hollister / Shoes: Clarks

Up close of the shoes:
(I don't think I rolled up my pants the same on each side... oh well)

Its one day away from the weekend. I am subbing elementary music tomorrow and really looking forward to it... plus a long weekend :)

The Edge of Glory by Lady Gaga

So my lack of post yesterday is not my fault.... blogger was acting up and wouldn't let me sign in. Anyway, its been a busy couple of days of packing things up to get ready for the move. We're gonna drive up to the apartment this weekend to take a car full of stuff and so the hubster can finally see it! I have packed up most of the kitchen appliances and things that we received as wedding presents that haven't been used much yet (or may still be in their original box), boxes of stuff from the study that I haven't needed for the past few months, the entire front closet of winter coats and christmas/thanksgiving decorations, and some pictures and decorations that we don't need to have here now. The more stuff I can go through now and get packed up the better for the actual move.
(Taking a break from packing to go to zumba.... Corona t-shirt and a ponytail)

Today was my last Zumba class in Lewisburg. It was a great class and we had cookie cake to celebrate (sort of eating the calories back that we just burned lol). I'll miss those zumbies!

I also started going through my wardrobe to see what outfits I can make. Sometimes I'm just not feeling creative in the morning or before I need to get dressed, if I haven't thought about it ahead of time. I also love checking out other blogs and getting ideas of what works well together... however sometimes I don't have the same pieces or it just doesn't look good on me as it does on other bloggers, but the inspiration is very helpful. I'm excited to show you what I've put together! This outfit is one that I will wait to wear till the fall, but I was inspired by Jessica from What I Wore. Its all about the classics, which is something I'm always fan of. Here's my take on it:
Peacoat: J. Crew / Shirt: Peebles / Jeans: Gap / Heels: Shoe Show

And here's the dinner that I made last night. I make a mean spaghetti. Now what is that supposed to mean.... making a mean dinner? It was seriously awesome. I kick butt at sauce :)

Back to packing, organizing, cleaning, and catching the American Idol finale!

Everybody by Ingrid Michaelson

A day of cleaning, errands, and relaxing in the sun, a BBQ, and watching The Bachelorette. Cute and comfortable all the way.

Union vs. Confederate
*History Lesson* The Battle of Lewisburg was fought at 5:30am on May 23rd, 1857 for half an hour. The Union won this particular battle and chased the Confederate to Richmond till the Confederate burned a bridge so the Union could no longer come after them.

Under The Boardwalk by The Drifters

Today I went to see the reenactment of the Battle of Lewisburg with some friends. I went last year and was excited to see it again. The union won this battle that originally took place at 5:30am and lasted for 30 minutes. It now takes place at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon in the same place where it was in 1862. I took a bunch of pictures, which I will try to post tomorrow.

It was in the 80s today, and I knew we'd be sitting/walking outside in the beautiful sun, so I wanted to take advantage of it and get a little tan! I wasn't sure which tank to wear, but ended up choosing the first one. The second picture is two tank tops, and the third one is the tank I was wearing underneath the darker pink one.
Top: Hollister / Cami: Aeropostale / Pants: Abercrombie and Fitch / Flip Flops: Abercrombie and Fitch

Dark Pink Tank: Aerie
(I liked the idea of the colors together, but it would be too hot)

Coral Tank: American Eagle
(Really liked this look, tank needs to be ironed, would look great with a long pendant necklace)

Never Alone by Jim Brickman with Lady Antebellum

It was a beautiful Saturday!!! I went to see Something Borrowed with some girl friends, had a late lunch outside with them, and a relaxing evening with the hubster including desert and drinks. Doesn't get much better than that.

I bought and love the shirt I wore today for the saying that's written on it. You can't see it in the picture because its small and in silver writing on the heart, but it says "Your smile makes me smile." :)

Shirt: American Eagle / Jeans: Hollister / Shoes: New Balance

PS I love these earrings!!!

You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile from Annie

Tonight is the final choir concert for the high school. I choreographed a little dance to You're Never Fully Dressed from Annie, and will be directing it tonight! I've been so lucky to have made such a good connection and relationship with the high school choir director and all the music teachers in the county. I will miss them all when we move, but am so grateful for what they have let me be able to do while we've been here. There is a banquet before the concert to recognize the choir members and enjoy dinner together. I'm very glad to be a part of it!

I've only worn this dress once, and I was really excited to style it completely different than the last time I wore it. It came with a black belt, and I wore it with black shoes the last time. I knew I wanted to switch out the belt and add other accessories to it. I wasn't sure which shoes to wear, but decided the heels were more formal than the boots. Here's the boots:

Cardigan: American Eagle / Dress: Peebles / Belt: Charlotte Russe / Boots: Steve Madden

And here's the dress with heels...
Heels: Shoe Show

Have a great Friday night!

Don't Stop Believin' by Journey

Its a cold day. I feel like its fall day, but its still spring. Since I was in a fall mood, I wore the colors of fall foliage. Orange is popular color right now, so I found the warmest of the three orange shirts I own, and decided to wear it today. With brown shoes and belt and jeans, it was a perfect fall outfit.

Shirt: Peebles / Jeans: American Eagle / Shoes: BareTraps

Its been an enjoyable day. I'm about to make dinner, show the house, start some packing, and then hang out with the girls for the Grey's Anatomy finale. Its also The Office finale, which I'll have to watch tomorrow on hulu.

Three Nocturnes by Dan Forrest

Today was a good day to clean the house and run errands. I didn't get a sub call, which was expected because of testing, so I enjoyed the day off. It was rainy too so I didn't mind being inside for most of the day. We tidied up and showed the house, then I went to the bank and to get groceries, paid bills and balanced the checkbook, and made dinner of stuffed peppers and salad. Now I have a relaxing evening with the tv and painting my nails. So far, no work tomorrow and we are showing the house again, so I'm planning on going for a walk if it doesn't rain.

The hubster has his OSCE test tomorrow and a practice Boards on Friday, and then he's officially done with his second year of medical school!!!! I can't believe we are moving out of Lewisburg in a month!

Shirt: American Eagle / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Shoes: Clarks

I should really start packing.... maybe tomorrow :)
