Shut Up and Dance by Walk The Moon

I'm back from our family vacation! We had a great time back "home." The only downside to living in the Pacific Northwest is how far we are from our hometowns. We hope to one day get back to living close to family, once the Army Medical journey has come to an end. While we were home, baby girl was baptized at my church (where we were also married), we were able to see everyone that we would over the holidays thanks to some family parties and best of all Hubby had a full week away from the stress of work so it was extra fantastic! Baby girl did well on the plane rides, even with an extra flight when we were rerouted to Portland (Once we landed in Portland, they decided the weather was better, refueled the plane, and flew us back to Seattle, thank goodness!). So now we are getting ready for Christmas! Only the best time of the year :)

We are headed home tomorrow! It should be a great trip, however I will probably not write another blog post till we get back. Then I'll have lots to write about!

Homegrown by Zac Brown Band

It is proving to be a very busy week. I subbed high school science Monday and Tuesday and have been using the rest of the week to get things ready for vacation! We are so excited to go home and see family next week. Hubby hasn't been to his hometown since he graduated medical school, two and a half years ago! We are splitting our time between Cleveland and Rochester so that we can see everyone and baby girl is getting baptized! Baby girl did great on the plane rides when we flew to Pittsburgh for a wedding in August, so I'm hoping it goes as smoothly this time.

Just keeping the mom life real with these outfit pictures! I love to coordinate colors with baby girl, and this blue and green combination was perfect. It depends on who gets dressed first for the day. Often times I feed and change her when she gets up in the morning, then take my shower and get dressed. However this time, I woke up early to get ready for school then got her up before we were off to daycare.

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!

Happy belated Halloween! I hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed at least a few pieces of candy! Since baby girl is only 7 months old, we decided to skip out on trick or treating and just pass out candy. It was an especially good idea since it was rainy all day. We did get about 50 trick or treaters and since Hubby and I told them to each take a few pieces, we were left with just the right amount of candy to snack on for the week. I found a cute pumpkin outfit for baby girl at Walmart and then decided we'd keep it simple and go as a pumpkin patch. I found Hubby's and my t-shirts at Target and Bentley already had his pumpkin costume from Petsmart. The best idea I've had is putting up the baby gate in the front door. We kept the door open so that kiddos didn't have to ring the doorbell and upset the pup and that way he could greet everyone and we didn't have to worry about him trying to escape. It was less stressful for everyone and we had a great night!

I carved the owl and Hubby did the pumpkins getting married in a graveyard, which is also a skull!
Here's the Pumpkin patch!

I Like The Sound Of That by Rascal Flatts

Hey! Its me! I've decided to come back to the blog! A lot has happened in the past year and I needed to take a break. While I was still working at the golf course, I was wearing the same polo everyday and didn't have any interesting content to share. Then I became pregnant and sometimes the thought of putting on real clothes and makeup sounded like the most exhausting thing ever. So now our sweet baby girl has arrived and is 7 months old, I'm mostly staying at home with her and on occasion taking substitute jobs at the high school, and have had time to get my body back. I'm feeling good about myself and have interest in putting together outfits for the blog. It'll be a little bit different now and I'll be real about mom style. Baby girl and pup will make their way into outfit photos quite often, so I hope you'll enjoy and stay awhile!

This is the same top, two ways. I have purchased some new tops from the Old Navy active wear line because they are easy, comfortable, and the colors are really pretty. When I saw this top in the store, the color caught my eye. I then tried it on, fell in love, and knew I had to have it. I now own it in every color. True to my simplistic style, I paired this top with long Hollister jeans and Puma sneakers for a cooler, rainy day, and then with cropped American Eagle jeans and Toms on a warmer day.

Lost photos

I realized when I was looking through posts on the blog that there were outfit pictures I took that ended up in drafts and never posted. They were never posted because I didn't have the time to write anything to go with the pictures. So I decided that before I get into current topics and outfit pictures, I'd share some of the old ones that never made it out! Just a little nostalgia (maybe for my pre-pregnancy body, lol) of some things I have worn in the past year, all taken from the old townhouse, not the new house.

Welcome back to Pictures and a Thousand Words!

Its been at least 8 months since I last posted, and I'm thinking its time to come back to the blog! I was really busy at the golf course all summer and was wearing the same thing everyday, so I didn't have much to update on here. A lot has happened in that time though, including the fact that Hubby and I are expecting our first child in April! I've cut back to administrative duties one day a week at the golf course and started subbing in the local school district to give me full reign of my schedule. We are fully moved in and settled into our new house and getting things ready for our newest family member. Bentley is still our first bundle of joy and the sweetest little pup. Hubby is in his second year of residency which was front loaded with away rotations (at different hospitals in the area and one in Colorado where I was able to come visit and see my family for Thanksgiving), but he is now doing outpatient rotations at his hospital so its been much nicer to have him around more.

I know I'm not going to be a perfect everyday blogger that I once was. I'll still post some outfit pictures, but I think I'll be moving in a slightly different direction around here. Its a lot of work to get dressed up perfectly everyday, especially on a day where I'm just cleaning the house and not going anywhere! So I'll be needing other topics to write about! I'm not planning on turning this into a baby blog either. Just a little bit of everything! So I'll leave you with these pics!
