Happy Christmas by The Beatles

I hope you had a Merry Christmas! Just like Thanksgiving, this was our first Christmas that we didn't go home to visit our families. Hubby had to work most of the day, but we still were able to enjoy the holiday. I skyped with my family in the morning while they opened presents, made a similar Christmas meal to Thanksgiving, and then opened presents with Hubby when he got home. Afterwards we watched Elf, one of my all time favorite Christmas movies, and enjoyed dessert and champagne. So it turned out to be a great day. And hopefully Hubby will be able to take a week of leave soon so we can head home and see our families, because its always better to be together than on facetime or skype! :)
Cardigan: Target / Shirt: Old Navy / Jeans: American Eagle / Boots: Crocs / Earrings: NY&Co.

I love this outfit. Do I need to say more? This cardigan is so soft and the color is awesome. The white tee and jeans is a favorite combo, and the boots keep me warm. I will definitely wear this again!

Diamonds and Hearts by Chris Sigfried and Desiree Hartsock

Merry Christmas Eve! I am taking a break from getting things ready for Christmas before getting myself ready for work to write this post. All the presents are wrapped and under the tree, the food has been purchased and will need to get started tonight, and my laptop will be charged so we can skype with our families. Hubby works all day today and tomorrow, but hopefully will be able to leave early tomorrow. [I don't know how long I can wait to open presents! LOL!] Bentley has been on the nice list when it comes to not destroying the tree or presents underneath it, so I'm very proud of him and I know he's going to be excited to open his own presents. Tonight after we both get off work is to hang out with some friends and play games, just the right thing to be doing the night of Christmas Eve on our first Christmas away from family.
Sweater: Target / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Heels: Shoe Show / Scarf: Christmas gift / Earrings: NY&Co.

This sweater is one of my favorites. Target definitely gets it right. I really have a lack of red in my closet, so when I found this sweater I was really excited. The scarf was a perfect addition to make it look like I'm ready for the holidays. And I definitely am :)

Oh, and this happened. Yes, we met Desiree and Chris from The Bachelorette!!! They were just as awesome in real life as they were on the show. Love them!!!!

Wake Me Up by Avicii

So I have a new favorite show on tv, Courtney Loves Dallas. If you haven't seen it, its on Bravo, and is about a fashion blogger from Dallas. Well, after watching her, she inspired me to get back to the blog. She has awesome style and has turned her blog and love of fashion into her career. I'm definitely not at that level, but do enjoy sharing my everyday style and life with you.
Shirt: Old Navy / Vest: Old Navy / Jeans: American Eagle / Shoes: Old Navy / Earrings: Walmart

So here's my not perfect outfit picture taking skills. Sometimes the pictures don't always come out perfect, but that's the fun of it. This vest is a new staple in my wardrobe. I love the extra warmth and how cute it is. The shoes happen to match, which I love, and the striped shirt worked perfectly with it. So here's a new favorite look of mine :)

Still Into You by Paramore

Hubby has been working nights for the past week and a half. Luckily last night was his last for awhile. Night shifts mean cuddling at 7am when he gets home, going to work or doing things around the house quietly while he sleeps during the day, making dinner to eat between 4 and 5, and spending about an hour or two together before he gets ready for work. Bentley has been a trooper and doesn't mind snuggling with daddy during the day, but then has lots of energy when its just the two of us at night. We're both looking forward to having him around and awake more. It'll also help me get back on a normal sleep schedule... when he's gone I tend to stay up watching tv, and trying to wear out little Bentley by playing fetch. But there have been at least 8 babies born in the past few weeks that Hubby caught while being on the Labor and Delivery service! :)
Shirt: Old Navy / Jeans: American Eagle / Shoes: Toms / Earrings: Icing / Necklace: Icing

So I like wearing my hair like this, however since we moved to the west coast, I really haven't done it like this a lot. I've been putting my hair half up, so it has the volume on top that I like, but its a lot easier to do when there's a clip involved in how my hair stays in place. I've also started dying it a bit darker than this... this picture was actually taken in September! But I love this outfit and I think a white top and jeans always looks good together. ]

Give Me Everything by Pitbull

Good news! Hubby's car was fixable and wasn't even too expensive. And now my car is all fixed up too. I'm glad our vehicles are back in good shape and they were both quick fixes. Now I need to get the guest room back in good shape for my brother who is coming to visit us next week. Although currently I'm still working on our bedroom. I showed the pictures of our townhouse to you a couple months ago, and it was pretty much done, however I felt as though our bedroom could still use a little finishing touches. So I started working on it again yesterday. I've rearranged the stuff in my bookshelf, moved the little shelf to hold purses, and added a few things here and there to make it look more put together. I'm already much happier. Once we get a new headboard and the new art work for above the bed come in, it should be finished. I'm really happy with how our whole house has turned out, and can't wait to decorate for Christmas!!! :)
Shirt: Old Navy / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Shoes: Toms / Scarf: Space Needle gift shop

Jacket: Old Navy

Finished desk space, part of our bedroom update, with my new may books!!!

I love to pair green and purple together. They are my favorite colors, so when I'm wearing them, I always feel good. Which is why when I was personalizing my maybooks, I chose to make them purple and green. Have you heard of them? I found them on instagram when another blogger posted a picture of her new one. I love them! I always write things down in an agenda or to do list, so I got two so I could have both an agenda and to do list notebook. :)

Brave by Sara Bareilles

Happy Friday! Things are pretty calm around the house right now. I cleaned all day yesterday so the house looks great, Bentley is taking a nap on the couch, Hubby is at work, and I'm waiting for Safelite to repair my windshield. This weekend will be filled with more car repairs, since Hubby's car broke down on his way home from work yesterday and my check engine light is on. Luckily I have off from work today so I can start dealing with the problems. Keep your fingers crossed that repairs on Hubby's car aren't too expensive, otherwise we may look into a new car this weekend. Any SUV recommendations?
Sweater: Old Navy / Jeans: American Eagle / Shoes: Sperry's / Earrings: American Eagle / Necklace: Etsy

This is definitely a go to outfit in my closet. Sweaters, jeans, and sperry's are my favorites. Its not warm enough to roll my jeans up anymore, but I can just unroll them and be good to go!

Sunny and 75 by Joe Nichols

Happy Hump Day! It seems that the "rainy season" has started here in the Pacific Northwest. Nothing like a cool, rainy morning to make you want to stay in bed all day cuddled up with Hubby and the puppy, but its a Wednesday not a weekend, so we're both off to work. But the weather says a sunny and 64 degree day tomorrow on my day off, so I'll take it! I'll be doing some cleaning for our upcoming house guest - medical school friend who's doing an audition rotation/interview at Hubby's hospital - but will be productive because little Bentley is getting neutered and will be at the vet all day. My poor little baby boy...

Tank: H&M / Cami: Aeropostale / Pants: Abercrombie and Fitch / Flats: American Eagle / Earrings: American Eagle

This was a great summer outfit. I love this tank top and the sheerness on top. I usually think to pair orange with navy like Syracuse colors or with black like Halloween colors. I've also recently paired it with pink that I'll share soon.

Reasons for not being so active here lately...

I have some explaining to do. I have reasons to why I've been away from the blog so much this summer. First, we moved. Packed up the apartment in West Virginia, said goodbye to our Pittsburgh friends, drove back to Lewisburg for Hubby's graduation, and then drove across the country to Washington. Then we had to unpack, get things settled in, take a few trips to IKEA, start making new friends, and we adopted a puppy. My parents drove my car across the country a few weeks later and spent a week with us. Then things settled down for about a week. Then my Dad got sick from a virus. I ended up going home for two weeks in the middle of July to see him. He started to get better when I left. Hubby had started work, Bentley started puppy classes, and I started becoming good friends with another surgeon's wife and applying for jobs. My friend flew out for a few fun days to visit. Then I flew back home with my uncle so that we could go to our family reunion and see my dad who was now in rehab after his 40 day hospital stay, and that's when my grandpa had a stroke. I was able to see him in the hospital while I was home. We flew back home a couple days later. I was hired as a Golf Shop Assistant at a course in our new town. Then last Tuesday while I was walking Bentley in the morning, my mom called to tell me things were not getting better for my grandpa and she was on her way to see him. He passed away that afternoon. Hubby was able to get a weekend pass and fly home with me for the funeral. So its been quite the summer. And hopefully things will calm down for a while, and I can spend more time back in the fun world of blogging.
Shirt: American Eagle / Pants: American Eagle / Cardigan: Aeropostale / Flats: American Eagle / Earrings: American Eagle

I was so excited to find this cardigan at Aeropostale. I had been looking for one like this and it was on sale for $7! The rest of the outfit all happens to be from American Eagle. I liked the color combination of the mint and the blue, so white was a nice neutral choice to finish off the outfit.

Townhouse pictures continued

Today I'm showing you the upstairs of the townhouse! The first floor was finished first so that we could have friends over, and we needed a few more things for the bedrooms before they were finished. So here's the final product! Enjoy!
