Rock & Roll by Eric Hutchinson

I guess April showers bring May flowers, but what about March showers? The weather was supposed to be 65 and sunny, however it decided to be 55 and rainy. We have had a tornado watch, flood watch, and high winds. Gross.

Today I did a lot of paperwork. I do feel very accomplished though. Plus, we got everything ready for the week with the kids. I'm glad they give us a whole day to do it instead of just a planning period. We also went to Applebee's for lunch and met up with the teacher I'm subbing for and her baby. She is one of the cutest babies ever! Lunch was good, however our brand new server had no idea what she was doing.

I am looking forward to my evening of zumba, dinner, The Bachelor, and some time with my hubster. Monday nights are actually a favorite of mine :)

So here's my springtime outfit.... I was a little cold, but I'm about to change into workout clothes and workout, so I will be warm.
Shirt: Gap / Scarf: Delia's / Skirt: Old Navy / Shoes: BareTraps / Watch: American Eagle

Hope you enjoy your Monday night as much as I do!

Sunday Morning by Maroon 5

Today I went to Yoga! I really enjoy it. Its interesting how you can get yourself into the poises and it really feels like you're getting a work out. I feel relaxed and energized when I'm done. Other than that, I washed dishes, had lunch, and relaxed. Its been a pretty great sunday.

It is currently 63 degrees outside. It has been a beautiful day, however it is now raining.

Its getting so warm, I really need to look through my wardrobe and see what I have that works for warmer weather! I am very happy to do this, however its still on the cusp of some day being in the 60s and some being in the 40s, so I feel like the weather is teasing me. One day I'm in a warm sweater, the next I'm wearing tanks and t-shirts.

Anyway, I tried to mix comfort with style.
Baseball tee: Hollister / Jeans: American Eagle / Heels: Shoe Show / Watch: American Eagle

Off to get those groceries so I can make dinner!!!

Aaaaand this is the dinner we made....

Tomato Soup, Grilled cheese sandwich, asparagus with almonds.... soooo good!

Sway by Michael Bublé

I had lots on my to do list today. I had every intention of sleeping in.... which to me means till at least 11. Well, I woke up at 9. I just couldn't sleep any longer. If I had stayed up later, like I usually do, I would have stayed in bed till then, but my body is out of whack from working everyday. I am so happy to be working everyday, just need my body to get back into the flow. Plus I work with germy kids. So this relaxing weekend should help me get back into it.

Anyway, the house is clean, the dishes are washed, my clean clothes are put away, and the bed is made. I am showered and ready for a movie with the ladies and other possibilities the evening brings. We do however need the basic groceries... but I'll probably go with the hubster tonight if nothing else happens, or tomorrow morning.

Here's the outfit I'm wearing today. I've been really excited about it since I bought the top and sweater last weekend.
Cardigan: American Eagle / Top: Charlotte Russe / Jeans: Hollister / Shoes: Clarks

Hat: American Eagle

I was having fun trying new poises. I also really like this outfit. I hope you do too!

That 70's Song by The Cab

I am ready for it to be spring. However, today it was windy, cold, and even snowed a bit. Its supposed to warm up over the weekend which would be lovely.

The soft colors of my outfit today made me feel like springtime.

Cardigan: American Eagle / Shirt: Old Navy / Jeans: Hollister / Shoes: Shoe Show

I thought this was pretty cool.... totally the reason for buying the shirt. You can also see the colors better, which are brown and light pink.

Short post tonight, but I'm ready for bed. I'm excited for a relaxing weekend!!!

King of Anything by Sara Bareilles

Today started out pretty rough. Even though I keep going to bed really early, when my alarm goes off in the morning I am just not ready to get up. I was in my regular routine this morning and having breakfast. Somehow as I was sitting on the couch with my bowl of cereal in hand, I tipped it and spilled milk and cereal on my skirt, tights, shoes, and the floor. Sometimes I stit on the couch and sometimes I sit at the table.... I may have learned my lesson and will sit at the table from now on. Well that meant I had to go change. I had really wanted to wear a skirt, so I thought I'd try another, which really didn't go with the rest of what I was wearing. So I scratched the whole idea. I grabbed my favorite pair of dress pants and a new long sleeve shirt. This looked pretty boring to me, so I put on a new skinny belt, which really added something to it. I ended up being pretty happy with something I put together so quickly, since I was really bummed about the spilled cereal.

Luckily, my bad day ended there. School was great. The kids seem to be less sick, or at least the ones who don't feel well are staying home. We only had 10 today. They are getting better at coughing into their arm, and I haven't seen as many pick their noses! Also, I've been really happy with how they've handled having a new teacher. They all knew that their teacher was going to have a baby, and having me in her place is no big deal to them. All the kids know my name, and don't have any confusion with my last name, since they call me Miss Diana. It makes life so easy :)

Tonight the hubster and I are going to see a short musical done by 3 of our high school kids (who I know from the HS choir). They are doing Tick, Tick... Boom by Jonathan Larson. He is the man who also wrote RENT. They have already won awards for their performance and are about to perform at a regional competiton in Atlanta. All three of the them are good students and seem to excel in theatre. The performances are to help them raise money to go to Atlanta. Its also always good practice in front of an audience!!!

After that its time to meet up with the ladies to watch Grey's Anatomy. Its always a good time :)

Well here is my outfit that I rushed to put together and was pretty happy with this morning. Simple and comfortable.. two good things for teachers' outfits.

Shirt: Gap / Belt: Charlotte Russe / Pants: Peebles / Shoes: Clarks

The shirt was a great deal. It came to $3 and some change. Its also a magenta color that I don't own anything in. It fits pretty perfectly!

Hope you enjoyed my long post today. I thought some of my recent ones have been kind of short, so I decided to make up for it today. :)

American Honey by Lady Antebellum

Happy Hump Day!

Today was another day in PreK. Only 11 students today... it seems like a different one doesn't feel good everyday. I just hope that I don't catch all their germs!

So far I've been to a full day of school, the bank (yay for getting paid!), the clinic to see a doctor about my allergies and how its effecting my hearing, and now off to Zumba. Looking forward to another relaxing evening so I can get to bed early to fight any possible germs I may now have.

I decided to layer today. I also decided to mix prints. I think I did pretty well with both :)

Sweater: Old Navy / Pants: Macy's / Shoes: BareTraps

Scarf: Old Navy

Fleece: The North Face

The print on the scarf is flowers that are blue and green. The green matches the sweater perfectly, and the blue matches the jacket. The pants are a dark grey/light black. The sweater is a light, spring sweater so I will definitely be getting a lot of use out of it now.

Off to zumba!!!

Born This Way by Lady Gaga

The kiddos were back in school today. There were 12 of them, which is the most we've had since I've been there. Some of them keep coughing and sneezing and picking their nose, and well I'm not feeling as good as usual tonight. I'm about to take some advil and head to bed really early.

Anyway, I really liked the shirt in today's outfit. It's once that I purchased this weekend. I like that this shirt is a plain white tee shirt, but the design makes it more fun. This top was something I could dress up, like I did, or can easily be dressed down.

Cardigan: Peebles / Shirt: Old Navy / Pants: Macy's / Shoes: Clarks

By the way, did any of you see Lady Gaga get brought in to the Grammy's in an egg? Half of the fun of the award shows is to see what they wear on the red carpet, and you couldn't see her! Oh well, whatever she would wear would be very weird anyway,

I'm off to my bed. Goodnight!

Back to December by Taylor Swift

Today was an inservice day at school. We worked on lesson plans and other things around the classroom. I got my bangs trimmed, which makes it much easier to see! Now I'm off to a friends for dinner and watching The Bachelor tonight!!!!

It's been in the 60s lately, and the rest of the week will be in the 40s. In honor of the last day of warmer weather for the week, I rolled up my pants :)

Shirt: American Eagle / Cami: Abercrombie and Fitch / Jeans: American Eagle / Purple Flats: Gap

Say Hey (I Love You) by Michael Franti

Hello from Pittsburgh! Thanks to free wireless internet in the hotel, I can post today! Its been a busy past two days, but fun and successful.

Thursday night I had stayed overnight on the campus of my alma mater with some friends. Yesterday, my sister auditioned for the music department to possibly go there next year. After all the events at school, we went over to the outlet mall close by and enjoyed some President's Day sales!!!! We did really well and I wish we had more time to check out more stores. We met up with a friend for dinner, then went back to campus for a band concert. We finally drove to our hotel about 40 minutes away.

Today we checked out the area I will be living in next year, had a late lunch, went to a movie (Just Go With It.... it was really good too), checked out a bookstore and sporting goods store, then headed back to the hotel for dinner. The hotel is right next to a Primanti Brothers... which if you don't know is a Pittsburgh specialty. They are known for their sandwiches that have your choice of meat and cheese, with coleslaw and french fries in the sandwich. Soooo good!

Tomorrow I will head back to southern West Virginia and my siblings will head back to campus for a President's Day perspective student program on Monday.

It was pretty cool and windy today, so I decided that layers were important today. This picture is one I took a few weeks ago, because I was proud of the outfit. I completely copied it today:

Sweater: Old Navy / Plaid Shirt: American Eagle / Jeans: Hollister / Shoes: Steve Madden / Belt: from a dress

I am off to bed now. It has been a long day :)

Forget You by Cee Lo Green

I looove this song! I don't like it for the lyrics, but the tune is really catchy and fun. By the way, if you watched the Grammy's, I thought his performance was the best. I also love that Gwenyth Paltrow joined in!!!!

Well I'm off to Pittsburgh for the weekend. Not sure if I'll be able to post till Sunday night, so till then, enjoy your weekend!

Here's my outfit for my evening with college friends:

Shirt: Peebles / Jacket: Abercrombie and Fitch / Jeans: American Eagle / Boots: Steve Madden / Watch: American Eagle

Viva La Vida by Coldplay

Today was my second day with Pre-K. Since I have never been a pre-K teacher before, I had lots to find out and get figured out for the rest of my time with them. I am feeling much more confident about taking this class.

I decided to skip zumba due to a headache and I have lots to do tonight to get ready for the weekend away. I am looking forward to some time with my siblings.

Here's today's outfit:
Shirt: Hollister / Pants: Peebles / Scarf: Peebles / Shoes: BareTraps

Time for dinner, laundry, and packing. Not sure when I'll post again, but I'll do my best to take pictures!

It's My Life by Bon Jovi

I am now a long term substitute teacher for Pre-Kindergarten!!!!! One of the teachers went into labor this morning, so I took the call to sub for the day, which turned into 6 weeks! I'm thrilled to have a temporarily permanent job.

The rest of the day consisted of making phone calls (to spread the good news!), a nap, making spaghetti for dinner, and choir practice. Now I have a few things to get done around the house and get to bed early. No more late school nights for me!

I was pretty happy with how today's outfit turned out. The hubby even pointed out to me that he liked it. I was comfortable and thought the colors went together nicely.

Cardigan: Old Navy / Purple T-shirt: American Eagle / Pants: Peebles / Shoes: Steve Madden

I definitely need comfortable outfits when working with 3-5 year olds. :)

You and Me by Dave Matthews Band

Happy Valentine's Day! I had a very laid back Valentine's Day, but it was one of the best yet. I subbed for high school agriculture, and learned more about cow reproduction and tools than I knew before today.

Anyway, in honor of Valentine's Day, I did wear red. The hubster and I decided to make a romantic dinner together, just relax at home and forgo gifts this year. We made an amazing dinner. I took a few pictures for you to take in they yummyness :)

This picture is pre Zumba class:

Top: Peebles / Pants: Macy's / Shoes: Clarks

The dinner table with the food ready to eat!

We made crunchy onion chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and croissants.
This was the perfect dinner.

This was the incredible desert I came up with... I melted a giant bar of Hershey's in a bowl, and surrounded it with strawberries. Way easier and just as good as chocolate covered strawberries!!!!

The song title today is our first dance from our wedding. Now I'm drinking champagne, finishing these strawberries, and watching The Bachelor with the hubster. Yes, he is watching The Bachelor with me! Its the perfect romantic show for Valentine's Day :)

My Funny Valentine from the musical Babes in Arms

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I feel like I've already celebrated it twice this weekend. Yesterday was pretty much my valentine's day with my hubby, however we are planning on lighting a bunch of candles and making dinner together tomorrow.

Today, I played a gig with the WV Jazz Orchestra at a fashion show for our high school's girls basketball team. We played lots of valentine and love songs. It was very well done, and put on mainly by The Greenbrier Resort. The owner of the resort is also the basketball coach. They served an outstanding buffet, had entertainment, as well the fashion show. All of the clothes were from local stores here, and I definitely got a few ideas from what I saw. It may not have been a big New York fashion show, but it was still fun.

If you ever need a getaway, definitely check out spending a weekend at The Greenbrier. It is located in White Sulphur Springs, WV which is just a 10 minute (or less) drive from Lewisburg, WV which was just voted as Budget Travel's Coolest Small Town in America!!!!

Well that was a nice plug for southern west virginia. Anyway, back to fashion. The dress code for the jazz orchestra is tuxedos. However, since I am the only girl in the group, besides our vocalist, I wear different versions of dress black. Since it is almost Valentine's Day, I decided to wear a red scarf to add a touch of color.
Shirt: Columbia / Skirt: Gap / Tights: Danskin / Shoes: Steve Madden / Scarf: purchased on Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas on our honeymoon :)

I thought my coat looked good with my outfit too....
Peacoat: J. Crew

Also on the list of things I did today was dye my hair... mainly fix my roots. Its very refreshing to get a haircut or color your hair. It makes me feel really well put together.

I am now watching the Grammy's. Who do you like? Who do you think should win the awards? I'm hoping the live performances don't disappoint.

Mine by Taylor Swift

It was a fabulous Saturday in our house. We had a productive morning of cleaning up the house a bit and getting ourselves showered and ready for the day. Then we had a couple come look at the house. After we talked with them, Cory and I had a pretty relaxing day on the couch, just hanging out. I made chicken and biscuit casserole for dinner and then we went out for desert at a cute cafe in town. Now we're back home to cuddle and watch a movie. I enjoy the days that he takes off from studying, and its great to spend real time with him since I won't be around most of next week/weekend.

We also decided to experiment with my camera to take my outfit pictures. The lighting is definitely different, and I definitely don't have the best camera in the world. We are amateurs, but we tried....
first attempt was good... however there's sun on my head...

so I moved over and it was much better! The color is definitely lighter outside and darker inside, but the colors of my outfit are really somewhere in between..... We will continue to play around from time to time with my camera and see what works better.....

Sweater: Peebles / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: Hollister / Shoes: Steve Madden / Pearls: super sale?

and I love these shoes so much, I felt they needed a little bit of their own glory. Aren't they awesome?

Time for the movie.... we're going to watch Up in the Air. :)

For Good from the musical Wicked

Don't take life for granted. Sadly my great aunt passed away today. It came as a complete shock to my family, since there was nothing wrong with her. The words from For Good are very moving, and are in her honor today.

I went for a walk and watched All About Steve with a friend today. It was a very relaxing day without a sub job. Now I'm off to hang out with some friends at the Irish Pub.

I've been looking forward to wearing this outfit all week! Stripes seem to be the new thing, and I wanted to be a part of it... so here's my take on the new trend.

Shirt: Peebles / Jeans: American Eagle / Boots: Steve Madden
Scarf: Banana Republic

Blazer: American Eagle

As you can see, I was enjoying trying different ways of dressing my new shirt.
Here's to a good weekend!

Marry You by Bruno Mars

One year ago today, my hubby got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. It was an amazing evening and I couldn't be happier. One year later, we are married and just as happy as ever. I totally wish this song was released then, because I would have been singing it all night!

Today was yet another snow day. It was the perfect day to do the dishes I have been avoiding the past few days and do all my laundry. I also made official plans with my family for next weekend to meet in Pittsburgh, including doing a little shopping, checking out potential apartments for next year, and meeting up with some friends. Therefore it was a very successful day.

We went to a friends for dinner and to watch the best show on television... The Office. Here's what I wore, and what we ate:
Blazer: some store in Sweden / Sweater: Peebles / Jeans: American Eagle / Belt: came with a dress  Flats: No Boundaries

This is an apple and onion pizza.... which was my friend's way of using up the apples she had left, and it was a really good way of doing that!

The Hawaiian pizza still in the oven... yummy!!!

Pretty great day to remember getting engaged. It used to be our anniversary of when we started dating. This will be a day that goes uncelebrated from now on since our real anniversary is now our wedding anniversary. Now that was truly the best day of my life. :)

You Are The Music In Me from High School Musical 2

I subbed a half day of elementary music today. The difficult thing about being a sub is having the students remember your name. This would be less difficult for the students if I hadn't gotten married this summer and changed my name. It is absolutely my fault that the kids now have lots of names for me, either my maiden or married name, or sometimes their take on how to pronounce them. Luckily, I've subbed at this elementary plenty of times that they all know who I am, and its up to them what they decide to call me that day.

My outfit today was perfect for the cold weather we've been having. I felt all bundled up and cozy, yet totally cute. However, the warmer temperatures we're supposed to have this weekend can't come soon enough.

Sweater: LOFT / Scarf: Peebles / Cami: Aerie / Skirt: Old Navy / Tights: Gap / Boots: Steve Madden

I've decided tomorrow I am going to start playing around with my camera to get better shots of my outfits. Hopefully the colors will come out better and I'll have more options for backgrounds. I'll have to play around with the self timer or ask my hubby to help out. :)

Firework by Katy Perry

I am ready for spring. Today it got really cold and windy and even started snowing again! So apparently it's still winter....

Well, I decided to wear a fun top with a cardigan and jeans. I hung out with a friend today who said she was proud that I dress nicely on days that I really don't have much to do... no sub job, just choir rehearsal tonight, but this blog is a great way to make sure I put together cute comfortable outfits. However, I did need to look nice when we had people check out the house.

I said yesterday I've been wearing a lot of blue and green lately, so I decided to wear purple!!!

Cardigan: Peebles / Shirt: Macy's / Cami: American Eagle / Jeans: Abercrombie and Fitch / Shoes: Clarks

I think its time for some ice cream... like I said I'm ready for warmer weather!!!

Hold It Against Me by Britney Spears

Today was test day! My husband had maybe 4 hours of sleep; went to bed late, woke up early to look over last minute notes, and had his test at 8am. When his test was over he came and picked me up to go to Bob Evans for breakfast! He went to the review to get his grade (91), came home, and took a nap till 3:30ish. While he napped, I cleaned the house so its ready for people to look at it tomorrow... crazy to think someone else will be living in my house next year.... Went to Zumba, had dinner, showered, and went to Jazz orchestra rehearsal, and caught the rose ceremony of The Bachelor!

Today's outfit is warm and comfortable. I am however wishing it was springtime... I am over the cold winter.

Sweater: Hollister (from boys side) / Vest: American Eagle / Jeans: American Eagle / Boots: Ugg

I've noticed I've been wearing a lot of blue and green. Let's see if I can wear a different color tomorrow :)

Green and Yellow by Lil Wayne vs Black and Yellow by Wiz Khalifa

Today is Superbowl Sunday. Today is all about the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Unfortunately, neither one of them is my team. I am a loyal Buffalo Bills fan.

Anyway, I have decided to cheer for the Packers. My nephew also loves the Packers, so I am supporting his team. We are having a few friends over, who during commercials will be studying for tomorrow's test with my husband, and they are all cheering with us. I am glad to be among friends :)

Today I looked through my closet to find what I had in green and yellow. I do have quite a few things and tried different combinations.

Let's start with what I would have wanted to wear.....

And now for the green and yellow possibilities....

Cami: Peebles / Shirt: Gap / Jeans: American Eagle / Boots: Peebles

Sweater: Abercrombie and Fitch / Cami: Abercrombie and Fitch / Jeans: American Eagle

Sweater: Hollister / Cami: Abercrombie and Fitch / Jeans: American Eagle / Shoes: BareTraps

And finally what I decided to wear....

Fleece: Gap / T-shirt: Gap / Cami: Abercrombie and Fitch / Jeans: Unionbay / Shoes: Walmart

Thoughts on the Superbowl? Who did you root for? Did you like the halftime show? Which was your favorite commercial?
