Middle Of A Memory by Cole Swindell

Sunday started out like any other day, we got up when we wanted, had breakfast, then went outside to play. Hubs decided he wanted to go to Lowe's so we all got in the car and headed out in our pajamas. When we got back, we had lunch, Emma took a nap while I got showered and dressed and hubs did yard work. Then I went to my friend's LuLaRoe launch party while Hubs hung out with Emma. When I got back we had a quick dinner because we had a concert to go to! We got to see Cole Swindell!!! He came to Fort Leonard Wood to give a free concert to the troops in the middle of his tour. It was so awesome!!! We sat out on the lawn among many families with young kiddos, and Emma got to run around and dance while we listened to the awesome country singer. Definitely one of the best kind of summer nights!!!

Plaid shirts are always appropriate for a country concert. I just got this one from the JCrew outlet! I don't own cowboy boots, so I went with my new Sperry's instead. I was comfortable running after Emma and fit right in with the crowd.

We had an awesome night!

Cole put on a great show!!! Thanks for coming to Fort Leonard Wood! We made an awesome memory :)

Round Here by Florida Georgia Line

This weekend we were able to do a little exploring of our new town. After a day of yard and house work on Saturday, we met up with a friend of ours from residency who also happens to be working at this post. We found a local BBQ restaurant and enjoyed the Kansas City style that is most common here. Afterwards we drove down the road to an old Western looking town store front. It is known as "Uranus, MO" and we were told they are trying to make it its own little town. So we decided to check it out. They have a fudge factory and general store that we were most interested in, as well as a sports bar, tattoo parlor, and a few other things. Its really random but now we know what its all about. If you like fudge or taffy though, they have quite a few flavors!

Like I said in my last post, I love to wear basics that have little details. Well lately lace is everywhere and a great way to take something plain and make it more interesting. I found this top at Loft and wish I'd bought it in more colors! But I bought this color with the intention that it'll be a great transition piece into fall... and I may have plans for family photos in this color scheme :)

Whatever She's Got by David Nail

Ahhh the weekend. Hubby is home, we can relax, get things done around the house, and go out and do whatever we want. And that's pretty much our plan. We're going to tackle cleaning the closets that we shoved things into so that things were put away or out of the way and mow the lawn. Then we have plans to meet a friend for dinner. Sunday, I'll be attending a LuLaRoe launch party for a friend who's just become a consultant. Other than that it'll be pretty relaxed and we can just hang out. And of course watch the closing ceremonies of the Olympics!

I wore this outfit for a play date and to run errands. I just got the top at the outlets this week. I like keeping my outfits simple, so I love little details like the lace on the shoulders. It also fit just right. Plus it was on clearance, so no brainer, right?! It paired perfectly with my purple skinny jeans too.

Emma's dress is from Old Navy

Are they not the sweetest? Bentley loves his little sister!

I also wanted to share this picture. As an Army family, we have moved a few times. I was looking for artwork to put above our bed and decided it would be a great place to do a state wall. Hubby is from Ohio, I'm from New York, we met in Pennsylvania, moved to West Virginia for medical school, then to Washington for residency at our first Army post, and now to Missouri. There are hearts over the places where we lived in those states. The top middle print says, Home is wherever I'm with you. That couldn't be more true as we move around the country.

Chillin' It by Cole Swindell

My parents left on Wednesday after a great week. During their visit we went to the Birthplace of Route 66 festival and car show, shopped at the outlets, spent time at the pool and splash pad (Emma's favorite place!), hemmed curtains, watched the Olympics, and made delicious dinners that we ate outside. And had plenty of ice cream! It was a great mix of relaxing with my parents and getting out to do fun things. I hope now that we're closer to be able to see our families a little more than when we were in Washington.

My first birthday purchase to share on the blog is this skirt. It was on clearance and fit so well, I got it in two colors! I was looking for a navy shirt in my closet to pair with it and found my Seattle Mariners shirt! Even the turquoise green color matched, so I decided it would be perfect to keep the outfit casual.

Not sure she wanted to take a selfie with me, but I decided to put up my hair and liked how it looked

Something That I Want by Grace Potter

I'm a lucky girl! I had an amazing birthday. I spent the day at the outlet mall with my parents and Emma. I was able to shop at the Loft, J.Crew, and Banana Republic - stores I haven't been to in three years! We also stopped at Chico's for my mom and Carter's for Emma, and my Dad just came along for the ride. I love shopping sales and we got some great deals! It felt like back to school shopping and I am all set for fall! Afterwards, we drove home and Hubby was already home from work. I opened presents and then we ordered takeout from Ruby Tuesday's. We were all too tired to make dinner and Emma was taking a late nap, so it was the best compromise. Hubby had bought me an ice cream cake which was delicious. Then we relaxed on the couch and watched the Olympics. And so much love from friends through texts, Facebook, and more. It was pretty perfect. So here's what I wore for shopping and a few other snapshots from my day!

Cake By The Ocean by DNCE

It's my birthday! I can't believe it's the last year of my twenties! I'm going to soak up being 29 for all 365 days till I turn 30. I'm not ready for 30 yet. Its so silly, but it just sounds so much older to me. I'm  already a responsible adult and parent, so its not like I'm a care free youngster anymore. Anyway! I'm going shopping at the outlet mall with my parents and Emma so I'm excited! I haven't been real shopping in quite a while so its going to be fun. Then we'll do dinner and cake with Hubs after work.

Yesterday we went out to dinner to celebrate. We had hopes to go to a local Italian restaurant with great reviews, but it was closed when we got there. So we decided to try out one of the Mexican restaurants in town and were happy with that instead. We were dressed up a bit to make it special. It also rained all morning and only ever got up to a high of 72, so it was nice for a slightly cooler day.

Cutest little girl :)

Family photo! We didn't even mean to coordinate so nicely with navy and coral, but we sure did look good! I should have hired a photographer to take some family photos!

Route 66 by Nat King Cole

Yesterday we went to the Birthplace of Route 66 festival. They had a classic car show, live music, food vendors, and a motorcycle show. We loved seeing all of the cars, and were especially looking out for a '61 Thunderbird, because that's what my dad used to have. We found a couple that were pretty close so that made him really happy. Hubs is really into Mustangs and classic muscle cars, so he asked me to take quite a few pictures. Afterwards we treated ourselves to ice cream since it was a hot, sunny day!

I'm glad I went sleeveless yesterday. The lack of hot weather in Washington has been made up for and then some in Missouri. And honestly, since having Emma, I have not put shorts back on. They do fit, but I'm just more comfortable in capris or a sundress.

We're kind of going for a red, white, and blue combination. Yay olympics!

A beautiful mustang!

Route 66!

Dad loved seeing the cars, but especially the Thunderbird!

Yes, Emma is trying to sneak a bite of Hubby's banana split while I take the picture, lol!

Anyone live in Springfield, MO? What are other cool things that happen there? Its only an hour drive from us, so we'll definitely be able to go back for fun things!
