Happy Veterans Day!

Happy Veterans Day! We get to enjoy hubs for a three day weekend in honor of the holiday! I'm very thankful for the military and all that they do, especially my husband who takes care of soldiers and their families. We have a relaxing day planned followed by dinner with friends on this Friday.

This is a new sweater from the Banana Republic outlet. I was looking for a new white sweater and was excited when I found this because I loved the texture in it. Its comfortable and the right warmth for most fall/winter/spring weather so it'll be a great piece to add scarves or other accessories for quite some time. Keeping it simple with my navy chucks for today though!

In honor of Veterans Day, I'm sharing this photo of my man in uniform from his residency graduation in June! We had the perfect backdrop at American Lake on Joint Base Lewis McChord. Love him!

Today by Brad Paisley

Over the weekend we had new family photos taken! I decided to grab some Santa hats and lights to get some Christmas card photos as well. Originally I had thought that Emma would wear a dress and Hubs and I would wear colors that coordinated with the skirt of her dress, but its still a little big so I went shopping for something else. I came across an outfit with a really pretty jacket and decided that it would be a better choice since we were going to take them in the morning and it would be cold. I switched out her pants for a darker color for better contrast. It perfectly had green and blue in it, which happen to be the best colors on Hubs and I, plus we all wore brown boots and looked perfectly coordinated. [On me :: Sweater: Banana Republic / Jeans: Old Navy / Boots: Charlotte Russe / Scarf: Target][On Hubs :: Button down shirt: Old Navy / Jeans: Old Navy / Boots: Doc Martens][On Emma :: Jacket: Carters / Onesie: Carters / Pants: Old Navy / Boots: Garanimals at Walmart]

If you are in the Fort Leonard Wood area and looking for a photographer, Riggs Photography took these photos. I highly recommend her!

Take Me Out To The Ballgame by Carly Simon

Well, last night the team I was cheering for lost the World Series. Since hubs is from Cleveland, I automatically cheer for all of their teams in support of him. So while I'm sad the Indians didn't pull it off, I'm happy for the Cubs! One of the announcers said that neither of teams have won in like a million years, so they both deserved it. And they played an amazing series that came down to the bottom of the 10th! So here's to the Indians in 2017!

I'm in love with this sweatshirt from Old Navy. Its warm and cozy and doesn't look like just a sweatshirt. The details of the neckline and hemline make it pretty. Its been going back and forth between warm and cold here, but when its officially cold in the winter, I'll be wearing this all the time!

She loves wearing her pearls. Such a girly girl!

Cooler temperatures are great for long walks with Bentley

Eating an apple and drinking apple juice...

Dinner is served! Chicken tortellinis in marinara with a spinach and strawberry salad with a raspberry vinaigrette. It was delicious and Hubs and Emma loved it!

Five Little Pumpkins Sitting On A Gate by Raffi

Here are some more photos from Halloween! We had already done the trunk or treat on Friday and trick or treating with friends on Saturday, but on Monday we had to trick or treat one more time in our own neighborhood. I decided to stick with my pumpkin shirt when we went out, but Emma was a lamb one more time. She did have an adorable trick or treat outfit to wear during the day when we went to playgroup. Hubs had a late night at work, but we had a friend join us for our walk around the neighborhood. It was a fun weekend and I look forward to next years Halloween!

We carved our pumpkins over the weekend and Emma put stickers on hers :)

Snapchat had awesome filters, I wish this had been a real mask to wear!

My next door neighbors love Halloween!

They very much enjoyed it!

Our pumpkins on the front steps led to the very big and full candy bowl by the door while we were out... and it was empty by the time we got back!

Every Day Is Halloween by Undercover

Happy Halloween! Over the weekend we did a trunk or treat and trick or treating. So our costumes got a lot of wear! Our theme was Fun on the Farm after we found a little lamb costume for Emma. Then we found a cowgirl costume for me and overalls for Hubs to be a farmer. Even Bentley got a pig/warthog costume! We had a lot of fun taking Emma trick or treating for the first time!

It Don't Hurt Like It Used To by Billy Currington

A couple of times this week I meant to write a blog post, but clearly that didn't happen! I did a major house cleaning one day, found an awesome new park with multiple playgrounds by a pond with friends and their kiddos, and watched the World Series! Since hubs is from Cleveland, we are very excited for the Indians! Today's pictures are from a day when Emma and I both had to change. I originally put on flats when we went to a playgroup, but changed to boots when we took Bentley to the dog park. Emma had an outfit change for our dinner date with daddy after she made a mess in her day outfit! Just a day in the life of a momma and toddler!

Pullover: Old Navy / Jeans: Old Navy / Flats: Jessica Simpson

Boots: Charlotte Russe

She loved that we matched in our boots

Livin' The Dream by Drake White

I feel refreshed from the weekend. It makes such a big difference when Hubby is home and not working one or both days of the weekend. Friday night we had date night and went to the movie theatre for cheeseburgers, drinks, and to see Keeping Up with the Joneses. Saturday was our fun day and Sunday was part fun and part get things ready for the week. We started the day with Starbucks for breakfast, checked out the grand opening of a local shop, and then headed to the Pumpkin Patch! This pumpkin patch had so many fun activities for kiddos plus a hayride and pick your own pumpkins. So we spent a beautiful fall morning enjoying family time. You know you have a successful outing when the kiddo falls asleep on the way home! After nap time we went out to dinner at our favorite mexican restaurant, drove around to look at fun little cars that hubs would like to get in a few years, and then ended up at Walmart to find Halloween costumes. I can't wait to show you what we came up with! We started with something for Emma and came up with a theme for the family from there. And now we have entered our car into the Trunk or Treat at the hospital on Friday with our theme!

We were the only ones and got to go a little longer. She loved it!

A little hand on hip action as she looks for the perfect pumpkin

So many good ones! (I really appreciate that they cut them from the vines and put them in a nice grassy area. We didn't have to worry about cutting them or her tripping on vines)

Success! Three pumpkins for the three of us!

Dipping chips in salsa at the mexican restaurant. She loves dip!

One of our favorites! Quesadillas for hubs and enchiladas for me!

So excited to share our Halloween costumes... but you'll just have to wait till Halloween!
