Merry belated Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!! I can't believe that its been a week since I last posted. That was not on purpose at all. But anyway, I have arrived in Hawaii, it is currently 11pm, we have unpacked, and I realized that we have free internet, so its time to make use of it! Since I was a bit of a slacker this week, here is my Christmas outfit! We had three great Christmas celebrations which I'll share with you tomorrow.
Shirt: Loft / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Boots: Famous Footwear / Scarf: Abercrombie and Fitch / Earrings: Walmart

I normally wear green for Christmas, because I have so much of it, but this year I switched it up a bit and pulled out the red from my closet. I really think everything about this outfit screams Christmas and winter... and we sure did get winter in upstate NY! I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to fly out this morning, but luckily we did! As much as I like the snow, I'm very much looking forward to putting my toes in the sand tomorrow!

It's The End Of The World by R.E.M.

Last night as hubby and I were driving back from shopping, Its The End of The World came on the radio, so we turned it up and sang along. I'm glad to say it isn't the end of the world and Christmas, our Hawaiian vacation, and New Years are still coming! Yay!!!! Today after we finish packing the car, we are headed for our first Christmas destination of Cleveland. With that said, I'm going to get back to getting things ready!
Shirt: Loft / Skinny Jeans: Delia's / Boots: Crocs / Scarf: Honeymoon gift / Earrings: NY&Co.

Jacket: Columbia

I had no idea what to wear yesterday after I had just put together a bunch of outfits to pack for Christmas and vacation. However, this outfit came together very nicely. I usually tend to keep to three colors in an outfit, but I think the red and blue go together nicely against the black and white neutrals.

Last Christmas by The Cast of Glee

Its the last day before we leave for the Holidays! Yesterday I subbed 3rd grade and taught dance all night, so today I have to finish everything on my to list! Hubby and I are going to run some errands and stop at the mall for some last minute presents, then meet some friends for pizza (they make an awesome cauliflower pizza), and finish the evening with packing. Tomorrow the snow is going to be making its way towards Cleveland (where we are headed first), but we both know how to handle driving in bad weather, so I'm not too worried. Today's outfit is from the other day when I spent most of the day wrapping and getting things done around the apartment. You don't need shoes if you're not going outside!
Pullover: Gap / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Socks: Gift from Mom / Earrings: Walmart

I'm kind of in love with these neon colored socks that my mom gave me. Plus, these yellow ones matched my cami, so they needed to be given some spotlight!

All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey

One week till Christmas! I am pretty much finished with my shopping and have just a few things left to wrap. We leave on Friday, so it all has to be done by Thursday! Speaking of leaving, I'm still hoping for some more guest bloggers while we are gone on vacation. My email address can be found in the About Me tab, so please contact me about your guest post spot! Thanks!
Cardigan: Old Navy / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Boots: Famous Footwear / Earrings: NY&Co. / Necklace: Walmart

Jacket: Old Navy

I love this purple cardigan. I also realized I haven't worn this necklace in a long time, so the outfit was put together around those two things. It was cute and comfortable for lunch and shopping with friends on Sunday.

The Nutcracker Ballet by Tchaikovsky

Last week was really busy and this week isn't slowing down till we leave for the holidays. I feel like my to-do list is never ending right now, but I know it'll all get done by the end of the week. One thing that is done is our dance studio's Christmas recital. We had it at the studio on Saturday, and my dancers did a great job! For the most part, we took the dances we've been working on and put them to Christmas songs. Now this week we can get back to their original songs and continue choreographing.
Tank: Old Navy / Cami: Aeropostale / Pants: Macy's / Shoes: Shoe Show / Earrings: Walmart

Blazer: H&M

This is what I wore to the studio's Christmas recital. All my students were either wearing red or white, so I wore green. This is the first time they've seen me dressed up and not in sweatpants, and I got a lot of compliments on the blazer. It is a pretty great blazer :)

I have huge news! Hubby matched!!!!! He will be doing general surgery at Madison Army Medical Center at Fort Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, WA. So that means we are moving to Seattle in June! We are very excited for this new adventure! And this means that I have my very own McDreamy :)

Match Day Eve

Fingers crossed! We may find out match tonight at midnight! Or we will find out sometime during the day or not till Friday. The different military branches were told different things, so we're just expecting to know by the end of the week. We would be so happy at either one of our first two choices, so keep those fingers crossed and those prayers coming!
Shirt: Loft / Pants: NY&Co. / Shoes: Shoe Show / Scarf: American Eagle / Earrings: Walmart

This is what I wore to school yesterday. Similar to another outfit I wore with these pants and shirt, but I changed out the scarf and think I like it a little better. Its a nice little holiday outfit!

I have a lot of countdowns to exciting things coming up, starting with two days till Army Residency Match Day!!!! After that we have eight more school days till break, ten days till my sister turns 20 on the 20th, eleven days till we leave to visit family for the holidays, fourteen days till my big bro's birthday, fifteen days till Christmas, seventeen days till we leave for Hawaii, and twenty one days till New Years Eve and hubby's birthday! I told you I had a lot of exciting things to look forward to! That's not even including the fun things we have planned for this coming weekend :)
Dress: Old Navy / Belt: Old Navy (came with dress) / Tights: Walmart / Booties: Steve Madden / Earrings: Walmart

I wore this dress to a Christmas party on Saturday. I've been saving it for a fun occasion and thought it would be perfect for a party. I have some more fun ideas of how to style it, so you'll be seeing more of this dress in the future!!!

Beauty and a Beat by Justin Bieber

I'm really not much of a morning person, but if I know I have to wake up early I set multiple alarms to make sure I get up and moving. However in the middle of the night I woke up myself a couple of times, clearly worried about getting up so early. I have a full day of 1st grade today and a longer commute than my usual. The district is for the whole county and I live at the bottom of it. There are 5 schools within 10 minutes of us, 3 schools that are about 30 minutes away and 1 that is a 45 minute drive. Usually I get calls for the schools within 10 minutes but today I'm at a 30 minute commute school. I'm proud to say I was actually a few minutes early even with a rainy and foggy drive!
Shirt: Wet Seal / Jeans: American Eagle / Boots: Famous Footwear / Scarf: Abercrombie and Fitch / Earrings: NY&Co.

I'm seriously in love with this scarf and loved the idea of it with my dark grey boots. This was a casual outfit from last weekend but that scarf is on serious rotation all the time :)

Better Dig Two by The Band Perry

So I missed posting yesterday and today's post is coming to you late. I don't have an excuse for yesterday, but today I subbed high school math and didn't have time in the morning. Speaking of high school math, I was excited to actually teach some of the problems they were working on. Its pretty common that I hand out busy work or put on a movie, but when I know the material and can teach them or help them with their work makes the job so much better. Today's outfit is actually what I wore to school last Friday when the weather warmed up. Its been a while since I wore a skirt so I took full advantage of the occasion, without having to wear tights!
Shirt: Gap / Skirt: Banana Republic / Shoes: Macy's / Scarf: Delia's / Earrings: Peebles

Don't forget to email me (found in the About Me tab) if you are interested in guest blogging at the end of this month!

Shirt: Peebles / Jeans: Gap / Scarf: Abercrombie and Fitch / Shoes: Payless Shoe Source / Earrings: Walmart

I love these nails, but they are getting so long its hard to type... time to go to the salon and get them fixed!

Scream & Shout by will.i.am featuring Britney Spears

I hope you liked my Christmas decorations! They really make our apartment more happy and cozy. Speaking of cozy, this weather makes me want to bundle up in sweaters, pants, boots, jackets, scarves, and gloves. So today's outfit incorporates some of them. I really wanted to feature my purple pants, so I decided the grey sweater and boots did that nicely. And the fleece jacket keeps me warm and cozy :)

Jacket: Columbia / Pants: Delia's / Boots: Famous Footwear / Earrings: NY&Co.

Sweater: Gap / Necklace: Target

Hubby and I did some serious Christmas shopping this weekend. Have you found great deals this season? Where have you done the best?

Christmas Decorating Pt. 2

I have to say, I'm really proud of how I decorated for Christmas this year. I tried to be a little more creative, and I think pinterest is starting to rub off on me! We have an ornament theme, because I had a lot of extra bulbs that I started randomly placing around the house, which gives our space a little more color. I wanted to share a few more decorations with you today, and will be back to outfit posts tomorrow :)

Christmas Decorating Pt. 1

I've been very excited about decorating the apartment for Christmas this year. I'm also very proud of what I've done. We have a little tree, a nativity scene, lights, some poinsettias, and lots of ornaments. After all that I realized that I had a whole bag of red ornament bulbs that I didn't want to overwhelm our little tree with when I noticed our cupcake stand is in the shape of a Christmas tree. So I put the ornaments in the cupcake stand. I decided to get a few other colored bulbs so it wasn't too much red. I still wasn't satisfied. Then I decided to get some green garland and really turn it into a tree. That's how this happened:

The finished product is a little Christmas tree centerpiece on our kitchen table!

I love it! Tomorrow I'll have a couple more decoration pictures for you and an idea I got from IKEA :)

It's Time by Imagine Dragons

Last week I was at the mall looking for a birthday present for our new niece. I noticed that H&M was putting up their Black Friday sales early, so I went in to check it out. That's when I found this blazer. Originally $39.50, it was now on sale for $15!!!! I immediately picked one up, tried it on, and was sold. When I brought it home and showed hubby, he was very impressed. It fits perfectly, doesn't look cheap, and I love the color, so therefore I decided it was perfect for our family's Christmas card picture this year!
Blazer: H&M / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Flats: Shoe Show / Earrings: NY&Co.

Not bad for a tripod and timer on my camera! I did a little cropping and editing before putting the picture into one of the cards on Shutterfly. Happy Holidays from my family and I!
