A Little More Summertime by Jason Aldean

This past weekend we went camping. We went back to the Lake of the Ozarks state park with our tent, air mattress, sleeping bags, cooler, and whatever else we could fill the car with for a night by the lake. This was our first time taking Emma and we wanted to keep it easy, so we planned for our meals to be in town and not have to worry about food besides snacks and drinks in the cooler. We had a great time! We were able to take Bentley with us and enjoyed many walks, fun on the playground, swimming in the lake, making s'mores, and sleeping together in our tent. I have lots of pictures to share, so enjoy!

Just arrived! Checking out our campsite

The Lake from our camp

Watching the ducks

Bentley got very excited to watch them too

Emma checking out the tent after Hubs put it up

She was enjoying the air mattress

All unpacked and set up, now to sit and enjoy our surroundings

After the playground, we headed to the beach!

Water baby!

The public beach

Thats about as far as she went in, which was all I was interested in letting her go

The other side of the beach

Back to the camp and starting the fire

Time to eat!

Applebee's carside to go! Emma took her only nap in the car to get it, and we didn't have to leave Bentley in the hot car while we ate, so it was a win win!

Sunday morning on the lake

We didn't stay very long on Sunday because we had a dinner invitation to a coworkers house that evening. So we packed up, grabbed Starbucks, and headed home for showers. It was a great time to get away as a family and enjoy the last weekend of summer!

  1. Looks like such a fun little get away. WE used to go camping all the time as a kid and I am dying to go with T.J. but he is less enthused. Love that you kept it simple gear wise. Every time I try to talk T.J. into camping I'm reminded of all the stuff we need to get first. But this just shows you can get by with the basics.

    1. Yes! Keep it simple! We went to Millersylvania State Park in Olympia once. Its only 30 minutes away so easy to convince TJ to try camping for the first time together!
