This is the second time I'm starting my day. I woke up early to get my oil changed then came home and took a nap. So now I'm feeling a bit more refreshed then I did at 6:30am and ready to have a good day instead of a tired one. So anyway, here's the outfit I wore yesterday in the Thursday Latelies video and out for dinner and drinks with a friend. My friend's husband is in hubby's med school class and is away doing audition rotations, so we're going through the same thing.

I think we are in the last ten days of hot temperatures here. Not that I don't love summer, because I really do, but I'm ready for cooler temperatures. Wearing sweatshirts to football games, picking apples and drinking pumpkin spice lattes, and wearing my new boots  are just a few of my favorite fall things to do! Hubby says its a little cooler in Tacoma then it is here and I will love it when I visit in two weeks. Can't wait!

What's On My Mind by Kansas

Have you ever done the 30x30 remix? (You pick out 30 items in your closet to remix and wear over 30 days... originally created by Kendi.) Well I have discovered that for our 8 day trip to visit hubby in Tacoma, we will only be bringing carry on luggage, since I have no interest in paying for a checked bag. So I've decided to turn this into a challenge to myself. I have picked out the small suitcase that fits in the overhead compartment, and now I need to pick out what I can fill it with. I think doing an 8x8 remix would be silly, since 8 items is definitely not enough, but I plan to limit what I bring and keep everything in the same color scheme so it all matches and can be easily remixed. Any suggestions on how many pieces I should try to stick to?

Blue and white is a no brainer combination coming from my closet. This outfit worked great for the hot and cooler temperatures we had yesterday due to it being summer and rainy. And its been awhile since my glasses have been in an outfit post, so my eyes are enjoying the time away from my contacts. :)

Road Outside Columbus by O.A.R.

Yesterday morning I took hubby to the airport. I decided to park and go in with him, thinking we'd say our goodbyes before he went through security. Surprisingly, at the check-in counter, the attendant asked if I wanted to go to the gate with him, handed me a special pass and told us to go through the special security line. That was so awesome! It was nice to be able to spend an extra hour with him before he left. 

Here is he in his uniform. Since his audition rotation is considered active duty, he wore it on the plane and will be wearing them for the four weeks he's on base. That's why he was able to get special treatment and have his wife with him till he boarded. Doesn't he look cute?

The Space Between by Dave Matthews Band

Its hubby's last day before he leaves, so he's packing this morning so we can relax and enjoy each other's company for the rest of the day. We have to head to the airport at 4am tomorrow, so its an early night in for us making dinner together and watching a movie on netflix. I'm sad he won't be here, but I'm really excited to go visit him!

One More Night by Maroon 5

This sweater is a good combination of summer and fall. Its a sweater which is warm for fall, but it has holes in it so its cool for summer. Add black shorts and flats and you have yourself a cute little date night outfit. Plus a new Vera Bradley hipster adds a touch more color. The sweater and purse were both birthday presents. I'm trying to space out wearing my new things from my birthday and back to school shopping, and pairing outfits with my new purses!

Good Time by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen

The plan today is to run errands and get a chunk of my to-do list finished so that I can spend the next two days hanging out with hubby before he leaves for Tacoma. I can't believe that these audition rotations are here. Before we know it fourth year will be over and he'll be graduating medical school! And then we'll be off to the next location for residency! There are days when this process seems so slow, but overall its going faster than I expected. In other news, one of our school districts started school today and the others will be starting next week. This also means students will be signing back up for dance so I'll definitely be busier starting in the next few weeks, but looking forward to it!

I love everything about this outfit. I wore it to band camp when I visited on Tuesday with my friend. Surprisingly it cooled down a lot that night, so luckily I had bought a new cardigan at the outlets earlier that day so I could wear it when we watched them practice outside. Can't wait to show you that too! My back to school shopping is done! However I'm waiting for slightly cooler temperatures to wear most of it....

Adventures In The Kitchen

Its time for another edition of Adventures in the Kitchen with Diana! I have to say that I'm proud of what I've accomplished while cooking and baking recently. I have some great go-to meals that hubby and I love. Most of the meals I make are quick and easy, because I'm usually pretty hungry and don't want to take a lot of time. Others take time and are usually made on days when I have time on my hands or want to experiment. Anyway, like I said, these are some pretty great meals that I've made lately.

Love And Memories by O.A.R.

Have you ever seen the tv show, Greek? It was on ABC family for four years, and I watched it then, however the entire show is on netflix right now and I have been completely addicted to watching it all again. Hubby and I do that... find a show we love on netflix and then watch marathons of it at a time. Anyway, I'm absolutely loving it, and its been consuming my free time. However my friend invited me to visit Westminster's band camp with her today, so I have a good reason to get out of the apartment. And I'm sure we'll find ourselves at the outlets at some point!

A Day In The Life by The Beatles

Its back to regular life again this week. Back to teaching dance and running errands, and its sort of the last week of summer. Schools around us either start this week or next, so I'll get back to subbing after a few weeks have gone by and teachers are sick or need a day off for some reason or other. Its been a pretty good summer, but I'm ready for a change of pace and temperature. I'm also getting excited for our upcoming trips to Tacoma, WA and Augusta, GA, and to find out where we will be living next year!

Happy Sunday! Hubby and I are relaxing and then going to see The Campaign. It looks hillarious in the commercials, so I'm pretty excited to spend the afternoon laughing. This is his last full weekend home before he does his audition rotations for two months, so we are taking full advantage of it. So since we took a little trip away in the middle of the week, I have felt like its been the weekend for three days now. Its been pretty nice and I love having hubby to hang out with! Tonight we are headed out for a Hibachi dinner and drinks to celebrate with our friends in Weirton/Pittsburgh. Its been one of the best yet and I'm excited that the party's not over yet!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes yesterday! It was an awesome birthday, and the celebrating isn't over yet! I have some pictures to share, but I'll post those later. Today's outfit picture is what I wore yesterday to help move my sister's stuff and do some shopping. I love this shirt because its sporty and the rest of the outfit matched perfectly. It was great for moving things up three flights of stairs, and luckily we had a cool breeze so it wasn't ridiculously hot. The move went really well and my sister is almost fully unpacked. I can't believe its already her sophomore year!

I've had a lot of compliments on my hair recently, and I really want to thank you all! I have finally found a style that works for me and a color that I love. I've tried so many different things with it, colors and cuts, but this one is my favorite. :)

I'm a quarter of a century years old!

In celebration of my birthday, I am at Westminster with hubby and my family moving little sis into my old room on the Kappa Delta suite. She is one of the first to move in because she is the band secretary and therefore moving in early to get things ready for band camp. It'll be nice that we're not running into everyone else moving in too, so it should move pretty quickly, and then we have all afternoon to help her unpack and set up the room. After all that, we're meeting up with my best friend and her husband for dinner and drinks... the real celebration. Then we're staying overnight so we can go to the outlets tomorrow! Happy Birthday to me :)
