Welcome to our new townhouse!

I promised pictures of the new townhouse and here they are! Hubby and I are very proud of how it has turned out. We have a lot of people to thank for all their help with giving us IKEA gift cards, helping putting together furniture and hanging curtains, and helping putting final touches in place. Its a pretty great upgrade from our last apartment. I decided since I had so many pictures to split them up between today and tomorrow. So today is downstairs, and tomorrow is upstairs! Enjoy!

We Can't Stop by Miley Cyrus

The perfect time to write a blog post is when Bentley is taking a nap, like he is right now. We took him to puppy class last night and I already see a change in him. He understands sitting for treats, and well, he's not chewing on the carpet because I sprayed bitter apple, that I bought last night, on his favorite spots. The accidents in the house are stopping and he's going to the door when he needs to go out, which is something we've been working on before puppy class. He's starting to learn! :)
Shirt: Gap / Shorts: Old Navy / Flats: Old Navy / Earrings: American Eagle

Sweatshirt: Target

Usually if I wear a light color like white or yellow, I pair it with something dark, however I decided to go for an all light colored look today and love how it turned out! Its a perfect summer outfit, although when running errands stores keep their air conditioning blasting, so the sweatshirt was to stay comfortable while shopping.

Safe and Sound by Capitol Cities

I'm very excited to start showing you pictures of our new townhouse. After many trips to ikea and target, it looks fantastic! I'm so proud of what we've done and thankful to my hubby, parents, and friend Krista for all their help. It's much more updated and our style. Either tomorrow or Monday I will start the townhouse tour!
Shirt: Target / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Heels: Target / Earrings: Target

This is what I wore to a recent Mariners game. I found the shoes at target and didn't buy them right away. When I went back they were still there and were the only pair left and happened to be in my size. So I picked them up and realized they matched the mariners teal. Perfect match with this shirt! :)

Everything Has Changed by Taylor Swift

This post is going to take longer than usual to write because Bentley always thinks that while mommy is on the computer it's playtime. And he currently really wants to play tug of war with his squeaky deer. So I type a few words then give him some attention. Anyway, I'm so happy because I have a new outfit picture for you today! I've debated doing outdoor pictures but since Hubby is not a reliable photographer due to his crazy intern schedule and I don't have a camera remote to do it with a tripod, I'm going to still use my mirror and take the pictures. Excuse the dirty mirror though, Bentley really enjoyed looking at himself in it and giving himself kisses - it was adorable, and I hadn't cleaned it when I took this picture. So that's why there's a line across my face. But here it is, a new outfit picture from our new house!

Tank: Old Navy / Cami: Aeropostale / Shorts: Old Navy / Shoes: Sperry's / Earrings: Stella and Dot

I wore this outfit to an intern picnic. It was a very warm day and a casual event to meet all the other interns of the hospital as well as some of the doctors they are working with. I love these shorts from Old Navy because they are the perfect length for me. I don't like shorts that are super short on me, and I feel the longer ones look a little more appropriate for all events. And this tank just happened to have the same blue in it and go perfectly :)

Back to blogging

Hey there readers! I've had a lot of distractions that have kept me away from the blog lately, but I am here to give you updates and get back to blogging again! First off, we moved and I was busy unpacking. Shortly after we moved, Hubby and I became the new proud parents of a Cockeranian puppy (cocker spaniel Pomeranian mix), Bentley. He is totally adorable and has been a wonderful addition to our family.
The day I went to pick him out

Three months old and playing with our friends' Labrador Retriever's tennis ball

Hubby is now in his fourth full week of his surgery internship. It's full of long hours, new systems and paperwork, and working six days a week instead of five, but after he does a surgery case, he's always happy with his choice. And I'm loving our new home and already have some good friends so we're settling right in.
Naptime on the 4th of July

The biggest distraction from the blog has been my dad. A week after he and my mom returned home from driving my car across the country and visiting us, he was taken to the hospital. He was completely normal except he could not complete sentences. We thought he was having a stroke. The first few days were very up and down with his memory and speech. Then he had seizures in his right leg. They gave him medications to stop the seizures and he got very tired and would be asleep all the time. The doctors were doing all sorts of tests to figure out what was wrong. In the meantime, they started him on prednisone and he has slowly started getting better. Both my older siblings and I flew home to see him since no one knew what was happening. Bentley and I were home for two weeks. My dad is still in the hospital but will hopefully be discharged soon to a Rehab facility or home with PT.
Doing a crossword puzzle, one of his favorite things

So that's a basic update of what's going on. I have new outfit pictures and pictures of our new place to come next week! I'm excited to share it all with you! Thanks for sticking around even though I have not been on the blog much lately. I really hope to post more regularly now!

Clarity by Zedd

Happy belated Fathers Day to all the Dad's out there! I'm excited that mine will be here this afternoon to be able to celebrate, since they were in Montana yesterday on their way here. Yes, my parents are visiting! They have always helped us move in the past, and didn't really this time, but when you have packers and movers, you don't need much extra help. So they are driving my car (so that Hubby and I could split the driving in his) and planning to help us with the stuff that isn't finished around here yet. And after another trip to IKEA this morning, we might have some building to do when they get here! :)
Shirt: Wet Seal / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: Peebles / Shoes: Clarks / Sweater: Ralph Lauren / Earrings: Stella and Dot

This outfit was for one of the last cooler days in Weirton, and final day of the dance competition. It was perfect since we did a little walking outside after my dancers were done and before the awards ceremony. This weekend was their recital, which I heard went really well, so I'm proud of my dancers!

The Other Side by Jason Derulo

Happy Friday! I'm looking forward to the weekend to get things finished up around here. Our empty moving boxes are being picked up today, things will be put up on the walls tonight, and we'll be cleaning up the bedrooms. That means I can take pictures and share them with you! Its also good timing because my parents will be here on Monday! There will still be a few changes to come, like adding curtains, planting flowers, and possibly a few new furniture pieces, but for now we're good. :)
Shirt: Target / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Flats: Old Navy / Earrings: NY & Co.

Still sharing outfits that I have from Weirton. This is perfect for the weather we're having right now. Its been in the 60s for most of the week, but when the sun shines it is really warm... so much so that I laid out by our pool and got some color the other day! Everyone back home has had rain... but not us!
