The Happy Birthday Song

Tomorrow is my birthday! I will be with my family all day helping my little sister move back in to Westminster, so I'll have a little celebration with them after taking all of her stuff up three flights of stairs and unpacking it. Today I am meeting a friend for lunch so we can make plans to celebrate with friends in Pittsburgh this weekend! 25 is a big deal and deserves two celebrations, right? (btw, I chose this post title because I was thinking of Elf when Buddy asks the fake Santa what he sang to him for his birthday last year and he responds, "why the Happy Birthday Song, of course!")
Shirt: American Eagle / Cami: Aeropostale / Pants: Macy's / Flats: Walmart / Belt: Loft / Earrings: NY&Co.

Today's outfit could be considered for Everybody, Everywear's theme this month of monochromatic because of all the pinks (shirt, cami, belt, shoes, and earrings) in it. However, I have something even better for that to link up tomorrow! I also feel like this would be perfect for Mean Girls... On Wednesday's we wear pink!

Made In America by Toby Keith

I'm sad the Olympics are over, yet so proud of the accomplishments made by Team USA in London! They did a great job and it was so fun to watch. In other news, the temperatures cooled down this weekend, and I was so excited to open all the windows, turn off the a/c, and enjoy the fresh air all through the apartment. I love summer, but constant 90+ degree weather is hotter than I really enjoy, and am enjoying the days of 70s and low 80s. Lets hope they stay for awhile!
Top: Target / Skirt: Gap / Flats: Shoe Show / Earrings: Etsy

Cardigan: Banana Republic

This is what I wore yesterday to our KD alumni meeting. I'm excited for the school year to start so we can help out the collegiate chapters and start having events!

Waking Up In Vegas by Katy Perry

Yesterday a friend asked if I wanted to go to the casino with her. I only had $2 in my wallet and decided to be smart and not take out more to gamble away. Well, I turned $2 into $48 and some change! I took my $2 to the 2 cent slot machines and lost the first dollar, but made up for it plus some change with the second dollar! I was pretty happy that I had really made about seventy four cents and cashed out of the machine. Then we went to the Craps table because my friend is pretty good. She was teaching me what to do and a nice guy gave me 2 chips to get into the game. Well those two chips turned into many more chips and I actually made money! I now have a better understanding of how the game works, but really we had a lot of fun and both made a little moola off of it! :)

Shirt: Gap / Shorts: Old Navy / Shoes: Sperry / Earrings: NY&Co. / Necklace: Stella and Dot

I always thought you had to be dressed up to go to the casino... and that may be the case in Las Vegas, but not here. Its much more casual to gamble in West Virginia.

Lucky by Britney Spears

Happy Friday! Another week of the summer is over, which means another week closer to school starting. I love summer, but I always get to a point at the end of a season when I'm ready for the next. Plus, I'm getting excited for school to start and to work more. As much as I love a day off, I like being busy and working. However these past couple of days off have been good for some hard core cleaning of the apartment. I have a hallway closet to tackle today.
Shirt: Shop in St. Thomas / Cami: Aeropostale / Pants: Abercrombie and Fitch / Flats: H&M / Earrings: Etsy

This shirt has a story. I bought it on a vacation in St. Thomas a few years ago, when I was really cold at a very air conditioned restaurant away from our resort. I thought it was cute and it reminded me of a Life is Good shirt. It says Feelin Lucky? under a horseshoe. I wore this shirt a couple weeks ago when I took my Mac to get fixed, and the guy who was helping me asked if I was a Colts fan. I looked at him puzzled and said, No I like the Buffalo Bills. Why? Well the Colts symbol is a horseshoe and they just drafted Andrew Luck as their new quarterback. So if this shirt was blue and white, it would be perfect for their team! But no, I just thought it was cute and would keep me warm for dinner.

50 Ways To Say Goodbye by Train

This is the last day of this week that hubby has off, so he's sleeping in and then hanging out with me all day. He even agreed to go boot shopping with me! Its my birthday in a week (eeek! I'm almost 25!!!), and my family wants present ideas. I realized that I'm definitely getting excited for fall and fall fashion (see yesterday's link up post to Living in Yellow), and could really use a new pair of boots. So I spent a lot of time last night online looking for boots and I've decided that I'd like to see them in person and try them on before committing to a couple pairs for them to choose from. This way I know that I'm telling them the right size too. :)
Tank: Hollister / Skirt: Gap / Shoes: Sperry / Scarf: Honeymoon purchase / Earrings: Kohl's / Watch: American Eagle

What am I doing wearing a scarf in the hot summer weather? Well stores are always super duper air conditioned, and I really wanted a pop of red in today's outfit. Still feeling Team USA spirit for the Olympics... and always!

(On a side note, today's song title is a ridiculously catchy song and new favorite of mine. But if you listen closely, the tune of the verses is to Phantom of the Opera. Listen. No joke.)

I've Got The World On A String by Michael Buble

I have wonderful news! Hubby passed his Step 2 board exams, and did well enough to go into his chosen field of surgery!!!!! I am so happy, proud, and excited for him. This score is sent to the residencies he's applying to, where he will be auditioning in just a few weeks! We're getting closer and closer to the end of medical school and off to the next move and chapter of our lives. But in less serious news, here's the super awesome outfit I'm wearing today. I forgot how much I love this shirt, and the necklace is one of my favorites. Add jeans and a pair of Toms, and I am one casual, comfortable girl! :)
Shirt: Loft / Jeans: Peebles / Shoes: Toms / Earrings: Peebles / Necklace: American Eagle

I linked this outfit up to Living in Yellow's Fall Into Fashion. Check it out!

Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!
