Christmas Decorating Pt. 2

I have to say, I'm really proud of how I decorated for Christmas this year. I tried to be a little more creative, and I think pinterest is starting to rub off on me! We have an ornament theme, because I had a lot of extra bulbs that I started randomly placing around the house, which gives our space a little more color. I wanted to share a few more decorations with you today, and will be back to outfit posts tomorrow :)

Christmas Decorating Pt. 1

I've been very excited about decorating the apartment for Christmas this year. I'm also very proud of what I've done. We have a little tree, a nativity scene, lights, some poinsettias, and lots of ornaments. After all that I realized that I had a whole bag of red ornament bulbs that I didn't want to overwhelm our little tree with when I noticed our cupcake stand is in the shape of a Christmas tree. So I put the ornaments in the cupcake stand. I decided to get a few other colored bulbs so it wasn't too much red. I still wasn't satisfied. Then I decided to get some green garland and really turn it into a tree. That's how this happened:

The finished product is a little Christmas tree centerpiece on our kitchen table!

I love it! Tomorrow I'll have a couple more decoration pictures for you and an idea I got from IKEA :)

It's Time by Imagine Dragons

Last week I was at the mall looking for a birthday present for our new niece. I noticed that H&M was putting up their Black Friday sales early, so I went in to check it out. That's when I found this blazer. Originally $39.50, it was now on sale for $15!!!! I immediately picked one up, tried it on, and was sold. When I brought it home and showed hubby, he was very impressed. It fits perfectly, doesn't look cheap, and I love the color, so therefore I decided it was perfect for our family's Christmas card picture this year!
Blazer: H&M / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Flats: Shoe Show / Earrings: NY&Co.

Not bad for a tripod and timer on my camera! I did a little cropping and editing before putting the picture into one of the cards on Shutterfly. Happy Holidays from my family and I!

Girl On Fire by Alicia Keys

We are back from our whirlwind Thanksgiving travels! Yesterday, due to traffic and snow in Buffalo, our trip that usually takes 4.5 hours took about 6 hours! Once we made it home, it didn't take me much time to unpack everything and start taking out the Christmas decorations. The fall decorations have been removed, the tree has been assembled and lit, and a few other things have been put out. I always save the lights from the year before, but only about half of them work, so I will have to run out and get some so that I can finish decorating today!
Jacket: Abercrombie and Fitch / Shirt: Marshall's / Jeans: American Eagle / Boots: Steve Madden / Earrings: Seattle's Public Market

This outfit is what I wore for my family's Thanksgiving. I'm glad I had boots and the jacket since it started snowing on Saturday!!! I believe winter has started!

More Time by Need to Breathe

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! It was a whirlwind break spending the past three days with as many family members as possible, but it was great to see everyone and enjoy multiple turkey dinners! We are packing up to head home this afternoon, so I'll keep it short and sweet.
Sweater: Old Navy / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: Peebles / Scarf: Macy's / Shoes: Clarks / Earrings: Etsy

The inspiration for this outfit came from pinterest. I have seen this photo and recognized that I had the same sweater in a different color and loved the pop of color from the scarf against it. So here's my version of the same pieces in different colors.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! Hubby and I are about to leave for Cleveland to spend the day with his family. We are doing Thanksgiving with my family on Saturday, so we get twice as much turkey and family time! I am very blessed and thankful for so many wonderful family members and great friends. The people in my life are who I am truly thankful for, especially that hubby of mine! :) Really the list of what I'm thankful for this year goes on and on, but I wanted to share that I am thankful for you, my wonderful readers! It makes my day to read your comments, and when the number of followers went over 100, I was brimming with joy! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones!

I thought yellow and brown were fitting fall/Thanksgiving colors! Have a great one!

Try by Pink

I have run out of space to save photos to Blogger, so now I am uploading my pictures to Google+ and then uploading them to the blog. Are you on Google+? Have you had to switch to this? I was shocked to realize there was a limit to pictures that could be uploaded, and that I had reached it! Yesterday I was very successful in running errands and getting things checked off of my to do list. I was even able to buy a little something for myself, a green blazer from H&M for $15! They started their Black Friday sales yesterday and I couldn't pass it up. More about that later this week when I wear it! Here's what I wore to run errands:
Sweater: American Eagle / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Flats: Shoe Show / Earrings: NY&Co. / Scarf: Gift from Mom

Yesterday while getting dressed, I couldn't decide how to tie my scarf. I've seen all these great ways to tie a scarf on pinterest, so I wanted to try something different, however the first looks like an infinity scarf, which I own, and the second is my usual way. Which do you like better?

Ho Hey by The Lumineers

Today is a 'get everything ready to leave for the holidays' day. I have some errands to run, laundry to finish, and packing to start. We don't leave till Thursday morning, but if I start today then it won't be a stressful process. Plus I'm starting to switch decorations over from fall to Christmas, so if I get everything done, I can do more fun decorating before we leave! Today's outfit pictures feature my new hair cut! Its an angled long bob and I love it. Its similar to what I had, but shorter which means lighter and easier because it doesn't take as much time to style. I had a great experience at the salon and will definitely be going back. What do you think?
Pullover: Under Armour / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Shoes: Sperry's / Earrings: Stella and Dot / Watch: American Eagle

It warmed up a bit this weekend, so I decided to celebrate with capris! I also love the color of this pullover that hubby got for me for Christmas last year. This outfit is very bright and cheery! :)

Die Young by Ke$ha

I want to take this time to say how excited I am that this little blog now has 101 followers!!! I'm so proud of how far this blog has come in the year and a half that I've been writing and taking pictures for it. Thanks for taking time to read it! You guys are the best!!! So, I got my hair cut on Saturday. But you won't see it till tomorrow because I have an outfit picture from Friday. We went to Pittsburgh's Light Up Night and expected to do a lot of walking outdoors, however by the time we found parking we were really hungry. We ended up finding a restaurant and spent most of the night hanging out there with our friends and eating great food. So we had a great night, and saw a lot of what was going on as we tried to find an open parking garage and walked around looking for a restaurant, but really enjoyed ourselves inside. Here's how I layered for our cold evening outside
Sweater: Old Navy / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Boots: Steve Madden / Earrings: NY&Co.

Scarf: Space Needle Gift Shop

Coat: Peebles

I absolutely love this whole outfit, and may be repeating it sometime soon. I knew this coat was a smart choice for staying warm as well as the scarf and boots (which are brown and heeled). I love the color combination of white, purple, and brown. The whole outfit was warm, comfortable, and pretty stylish.

Cruise by Florida Georgia Line

I have a couple of great things today! First, the Buffalo Bills beat the Miami Dolphins last night!!!! I love those boys in red, white, and blue, and the Dolphins are our big rival, so it was a great win! Secondly, I have a hair appointment tomorrow. I haven't had my hair done since May when it was cut poorly at one salon and rescued by another. I've been growing it out since then but could really use a trim and an update. Next, its been a great work week. Between my two jobs I've worked everyday this week, which is wonderful because I like staying busy. Today's outfit is what I wore to teach high school math yesterday. I'm off to the middle school this afternoon. And lastly, we are going to Pittsburgh's Light Up Night tonight with some friends! We haven't really been in the city much lately, so I'm looking forward to it, trying a new restaurant, and seeing how beautiful it is with all the lights!

Cardigan: Old Navy / Cami: Aeropostale / Pants: NY&Co. / Shoes: Shoe Show / Earrings: Seattle's Public Market

These pants are perfect for a holiday party. I could have easily gone to one in this outfit after work yesterday! I like to wear neutrals with such bright pants, so we'll see what other combinations I come up with for these pants because this is the perfect time to wear them! :)

Once Upon A December from Anastasia

One week from today is Thanksgiving and the start of the holiday season! It's definitely my favorite time of year. However this year is the last year for a few years that hubby will have a break so we need to enjoy it to the fullest. And be thankful for our relatively short drive home because it won't be that way for long. So only one week longer till ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas movies on tv, red and green decorations everywhere, Christmas cookies and hot chocolate, and Christmas carols playing from my iTunes everyday!!!
Sweatshirt: Not sure where its from / Cami: Aeropostale / Pants: Macy's / Flats: Shoe Show / Earrings: Honeymoon

These wide leg black pants are just as comfortable as sweatpants but cuter to wear for running errands and teaching dance without having to change in between!
