Forever Young by Rod Stewart

Tonight hubby and I are headed to Red Lobster for date night. We haven't had a night out by ourselves in awhile, so we decided we should enjoy each other's company and have a relaxing evening. He's pretty awesome.

I had the inspiration for this outfit from Lauren Conrad's Style book. She talked about different ways to wear a little black dress, and this was the casual way. I added the belt for a pop of color and matched my earrings to it. It was very comfortable and a success by the look on hubby's face as he came home. :)

Come What May from Moulin Rouge

It was a day of running errands for me. I needed to get out of the apartment today so I was glad to do them. I'm hoping that I fixed the problem with our car insurance... they wanted us to have a local agent instead of the one we've had for a few years? I also hope the new phone Verizon sends me on Friday will work better than the one they sold me in October... which gives me problems every other week. On the plus side, I picked up a few things at Bed Bath and Beyond with the gift card from my older sister that are making me happy. Now its time to watch the Bachelor!

Ain't No Other Man by Christina Aguilera

Last night we had a lot of fun at the casino. Hubby's dad likes to play craps, so we all watched, but really had no clue what was going on. After that we decided to try out the penny slot machines. I started off doing well, but my $20 soon became $5, so I gave up. We decided we were hungry so we headed to one restaurant who had a wait time of 2 hours and 30 minutes, so we headed to the buffet instead. We all definitely got our money's worth and had a great time. Here's a few pictures of the evening.
Hubby with his dad and brother

The amazing deserts at the buffet... I couldn't eat them all but it was great to try them all and finish what I liked the most

I didn't win much, but it was fun anyway!

Do you like casinos and gambling?

Into The Night by Carlos Santana

Hubby's dad and brother are here today. We had lunch and are relaxing for the moment, but we have a night in Pittsburgh ahead of us. We are headed to the casino for some fun!

I was really excited about this top when I found it at the outlets. I've been looking for more blousy tops and this one fit the bill perfectly. Plus, the polka dots were cute.
You can see my Stella and Dot necklace that I love!

Nothing On You by B.o.B. featuring Bruno Mars

I have been so excited for this outfit since I bought these pants. New York and Co. was having an awesome clearance sale, and I found these for $5.99!!!! Plus they fit perfectly and were a colored pant like I was looking for. I hope you like them as much as I do. I kept it very basic today for my first time wearing them, but I'm excited to try other combinations. If you have suggestions, let me know!

Today, I subbed middle school language arts. They were reading The Hunger Games out loud in class when I took over for the teacher. The next class did the same thing. I was so impressed with how interested in reading this book they were. The second class was a page away from finishing the chapter with a minute left in class, so they asked me to speed read it because they were so into it. Now I'm hooked on the book and have decided to go out and get it so I can read the whole thing, besides chapters 10-12. Love it!

Copacabana by Barry Manilow

Its another productive day here. Hubby had a half day of work so he's organizing/cleaning the guest room/his closet. I ran a bunch of errands and am about to become Martha Stewart in the kitchen. Its cold and rainy, which makes me happy to be inside and warm. Plus, with the oven going, it'll definitely be warm and cozy. :)

Peacoat: Target

I got this coat for Christmas from my grandma, and I love it! If you haven't noticed, green is definitely one of my favorite colors, so I was super excited about this coat. I also love how the scarf pops on the darkness of the coat. Now if only the weather would match the color of my sweater and scarf today....

Serenity by Godsmack

Happy hump day! I was very productive today, hoping that I get sub calls for the next two days and won't have as much time to clean and get ready for the weekend. Hubby's dad and brother are coming in to visit. So I cleaned, vacuumed, did dishes, laundry, and paid bills. Tomorrow, hopefully after  day of school, I'm going to make another lasagna (because it was a huge hit the first time!) to have ready for Friday, and leftovers for the weekend.

I saw this kind of combination for an outfit on pinterest, so I decided to dress up after I finished everything. By the way, pinterest is seriously addicting. I was pinning things all night last night and found so many food recipes I want to try, I was making myself hungry. Are you on pinterest?

Since my outfit was pretty much all black and grey, I decided to take picture in black and white :)

Hair from the musical, Hair

Getting a haircut is one of the best things ever. I really needed my bangs trimmed and decided the length of my hair could use it too. So I put on a basic outfit, drove to the closet hair salon, and got my haircut. I really liked how I had it this summer when it was shorter, so I told the stylist that's what I wanted. The length of the back is much shorter with the longer layers in front. I'm really happy with it! :)

Every Day by Rascal Flatts

I went shopping at the outlets by school with some friends before we got to work for recruitment final night. I bought two skirts from New York and Co. however, I didn't try them on. Well, I did last night and was bummed that they were both too big. So I decided since I had the day off, to head up there today and see if I could exchange them. I picked up my little sis and we were successful. They didn't have the two I purchased, but I found a different skirt and a pair of pants. I'm excited because they are both different than anything I have in my closet. I will be debuting them soon.

Tonight, hubby and I are celebrating the Chinese New Year with some chinese food!

There You'll Be by Faith Hill

I have been on a secret mission this week. It was sorority recruitment at my alma mater, and I have been helping as an alumni advisor. Tonight is the final night when decisions are made and tomorrow is bid day. My little sister is going through recruitment, so I am excited to be there as she makes final decision. All the undergrad sisters wore black dresses and the alumni advisors wore black suits with a green top. Here's my version:

Not Over You by Gavin DeGraw

Happy Thursday! This week is almost over. I am looking forward to the weekend. Tonight I am going to try to make lasagna for the first time. Its a good time to make something warm to eat and cuddle on the couch with my favorite tv shows because its snowing outside and the roads are not so great. I think this outfit today is perfect for staying warm and cozy.

The Rose by Bette Midler

I decided to wear green today in honor of sorority recruitment which started at Westminster today. Kappa Delta's colors are green and white, so this is in honor of my sisters! I wish them the best of luck this week and hope they pick up some great girls! My little sister is going through recruitment, so I wish her the best of luck in finding where she fits best.

Tailor Made by Colbie Caillat

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Thanks to him our world is a different place. Plus, we get a day off from school. Since I didn't have school, I cleaned up, did a load of laundry, started taking Christmas decorations down (yes, I know how late it is), made dinner for hubby and a friend of ours, and was able to hang out and relax. Pretty good day.
Top: Ralph Lauren / Jeans: American Eagle / Boots: Crocs / Earrings: Peebles

I think its time to trim my bangs.... I'd like to see and not have them pushing down my eyelashes!

Old Red by Blake Shelton

I feel like lately all I've been doing is watching football. Lots and lots of football. Not that I'm complaining, I've just watched a lot of it... including bowl games and playoff games. Obviously the Buffalo Bills didn't make it, but I still love the game and find someone else to cheer for. Tonight was no exception. I really wasn't concerned who won the Giants/Packers game tonight, however my outfit made it look like I had chosen a side. It did work, however, since the Giants are moving on to next week.

I chose the outfit because I wanted to wear my red cami. Which then made me want to wear these shoes... and so the outfit was put together. I really liked it, however since I wore a belt over my shirt, I felt stupid wearing one on my pants, so I didn't... and then felt like I had to pull my pants up sometimes. Does that ever happen to you?
Top: Loft / Cami: Aeropostale / Jeans: American Eagle / Shoes: Gift from friend / Earrings: Walmart / Belt: Charlotte Russe

(btw, my pictures are always taken as mirror image - thanks to photo booth - so my wedding rings are really on my left hand)

I love how the look turned out and may repeat this one sometime :)

You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Its very relaxing around here which is just what we needed. After a nice morning of sleeping in (because I could not fall asleep last night), its been a lazy afternoon, to be followed by getting pizza with friends and then watching the Broncos vs. Patriots and the Miss America Pageant tonight. I will be cheering on Miss New York since she is a hometown friend of mine. She and her mom have been updating how things are going in the competition on facebook all week, and tonight is the final round and crowning. We may be switching back and forth to keep the boys happy.... they win either way, football or hot girls.

I received this sweater for Christmas and love it for a few reasons. Its a different style than most of my sweaters, and it has sequined fireworks on it! It looks pretty sweet and I love that I can dress it up and down, so you'll definitely be seeing more of this as I try different looks.
